Discover how literacy looks different across every discipline in this asynchronous book study for grades 6–12 educators.
Grounded in This Is Disciplinary Literacy: Reading, Writing, Thinking, and Doing… Content Area by Content Area by ReLeah Lent, this experience moves beyond one-size-fits-all strategies to explore how each subject area uses literacy as a tool for thinking and learning. Whether you teach math, science, social studies, ELA, or another content area, you’ll learn how to help students engage in the authentic habits of your content area.
Participants will explore practical, ready-to-implement strategies that bring disciplinary literacy to life in lessons, units, and projects. Join us to deepen student understanding, increase engagement, and make learning more meaningful in YOUR content area.
This book study consists of asynchronous coursework on the Teachable online platform ONLY. There will be NO live Zoom meetings for this book study.
We have a limited number of grant-funded books to distribute to participants, so sign up soon! Please note that books MUST be picked up in either Jacksonville or Quincy. We are unable to mail books. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Registration closes on May 29, 2026, or when the participant cap is reached.
