From Chaos to Calm: Helping the Brain Feel Safe Through Regulation
In this first session of the Brain Series, participants will explore how understanding brain science can transform the way we approach behavior, stress, and connection. Using Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model, we’ll examine how the brain organizes from the bottom up and why regulation must come before reasoning.
Through interactive discussion and practical strategies, participants will:
- Understand how stress and trauma impact brain functioning.
- Learn how to recognize signs of dysregulation in self and others.
- Explore ways to promote felt safety through co-regulation and predictable routines.
- Begin building a shared language for supporting calm and connection in learning environments.
This session lays the foundation for using brain-based approaches to move from chaos to calm—helping every learner (and adult) feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
