Brain Series – From Chaos to Connection: How Our Words Reach the Emotional Brain
Our words have power — they can either calm or ignite the emotional centers of the brain. In this interactive session, we’ll explore how communication shapes connection through the limbic system, especially the amygdala, which interprets tone, safety, and emotion long before logic steps in.
Participants will learn how to use nonjudgmental, regulating language that helps students and colleagues feel seen, heard, and safe — even in moments of stress or conflict. Through real examples and guided reflection, we’ll practice shifting from reactive to responsive communication that supports emotional regulation and trust. Session 2/3
