This session will introduce educators to the key practices from the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics, Grades K – 12: 14 Practices for Enhancing Learning, and how they can support deeper student thinking and engagement in mathematics. Participants will learn how one classroom teacher implemented these strategies and what this work looked like in practice.
This session will provide an overview of the core routines, highlight classroom examples, and allow educators to experience problem-solving tasks as learners. Time will also be provided for participants to consider how these practices could be incorporated into their own classrooms during the upcoming school year.
