Discover how integrated literacy can build young students’ self-regulation skills using a simple, research-based four-step routine: I breathe, I feel, I notice, I move. This session will guide participants through each step, the neuroscience behind it, and visuals to support implementation.
Learn how to launch the routine with engaging picture book read-aloud lessons, discussion questions to strengthen oracy, extend it through writing prompts to deepen self-awareness, and build emotional vocabulary with targeted literacy activities. You will leave with ready-to-use resources to use this regulation routine with your students for increased emotional awareness, vocabulary, and a calm classroom culture.
