When students make predictions about the plot and characters of a text prior to reading, it increases their comprehension and engagement with the text. While this is a common practice in elementary reading, it is no less valuable in the middle and upper grade ELA classes. This session will model engaging, low-prep prediction activities for challenging texts. Participants will come away with templates and ideas for adding prediction activities to their own pre-reading lessons.
Registration closes on June 12, 2024
